Blueprint for Your Life - The Beatitudes

Everyone needs a blue-print for their life.

If you consulted with a contractor regarding what kind of house you wanted and you had no idea, had no blue-print, not sure what things you wanted your house to be, he would walk away. For if you dont know what you want, this masterpiece will never get constructed.

So to have a blueprint, means that you have an exciting outline for your life, beyond this world, that will serve as a unique guide for the shape of things to come.

The actual Blueprint for your life is found in Beatitudes:


Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Does not mean poor, but those who suffer in spirit for they see beyond these temporary pains
* Means not being attached to this world: ie the wordly lure of possessions, worldliness of protecting one's assets, of holding on...
* Do not be afraid to lose | hurt | suffer in this world
* see beyond this short-lived-ness of this world to the future lasting kingdom



Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
* Means to mourn for one’s sins
* Being truly sorry for one's trespasses
* Having a loving, soft heart

Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth.
* Compassionate with others
* not-overbearing when talking/chatting with others
* not ego based, does not inject their opinions on others
* gentle - ie: close door softly

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness(justice), for they will be filled.
* Means to hunger & thirst to be holy, to do God's Will
* Wish to fulfill God’s Will
* Hunger to seek after the Lord - think of Him everyday

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
* Means Empathasize with others
* we are all like the prodigal son who needs compassion, for we lust after the world

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
* Means purity of body, mind
* don’t allow mind to be filled with worldly smut
* Problem is that we are satisifed eating husks (lusting after women/riches/glory) not pure of heart, when we could be dining in style with God
* selfishness means: person doesn’t care about others – not pure of heart

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
* Means got to Work Hard for the kingdom for God doesn’t owe us anything
* got to make peace

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Means we tolerate persecution all the while we are standing up to evil
* Dance for joy when you are “Rocking the boat” not losing ground to the enemy
(Rocking the boat = stirring things up)

SUMMARY OF OUR BLUEPRINT OF LIFE, THE BEATITUDES

• Deny one’s self , Ego-Less - do you see any "I" or "me" in the Lord's prayer ?
• Eternal Life is beyond the short-sighted happiness of worldly things
• Come on this earth prepared to suffer like Jesus did
• Rock the boat(establishment) and achieve God’s will despite the adversity of our “enemy”
• Enjoy the feast (winning) not the husks (sinning)
• Blueprint: goals, outline, guideline, blueprint, the shape of Your Eternal Life is found in the Beatitudes
• God doesn’t owe us salvation, doesn’t owe us a life – we need to lay claim to victory so lets go do the work were called to do - now that we have this blueprint as our guide. Yaa!
